Senior Adult Ministry Potluck Dinner
Our Senior Adult Ministry serves members by providing spiritual growth, fellowship, and meaningful service opportunities, focusing on social events (trips, luncheons, games), and avenues for seniors to use their wisdom in ministry to others, combating loneliness and fostering purpose.
Join us for a Potluck dinner
Friday, April 17
4:30–6:00pm
In the Fellowship Hall
Cost: $5/person
Key Goals & Functions
Fellowship & Socialization: Luncheons, outings (concerts, sightseeing), game days, and celebrations to combat isolation.
Learning & Growth: Workshops, seminars, and "discover trips" to keep minds active.
Meaningful Service: Opportunities for seniors to teach skills, pray for younger generations, read scripture, or participate in mission projects.
Intergenerational Connection: Bridging gaps between generations for mutual benefit.
Common Activities
Quarterly luncheons with catering or homemade food/potluck.
Keynote speakers on relevant topics (health, finances, faith).
Service projects like food drives or helping others in the church.
Core Philosophy
Shift from "ministry to" seniors to ministry "with" seniors, empowering them as active participants, not just recipients of care.
Recognize their wisdom, experience, and desire to contribute to the church and community.
Address needs like loneliness, which is a significant issue for older adults
